Moving Company Sales Scripts Your Team Can Use Today
These scripts are a starting point, not a recording to read word for word. Each one has a job: get the details, earn trust, give a clear price and ask for the booking. Change the wording until it sounds like your team.

What makes a good moving sales script?
It takes control of the call politely, gathers the details that drive price (move size, date, access, distance), explains the price in plain terms, handles the usual objections without arguing, and always ends by asking for the booking or a clear next step.
The inbound call
Opening and discovery
A new customer calls for a quote
"Thanks for calling {company}, this is {name}. Are you planning a move?"
"Congratulations! I can get you a price on this call. What date are you looking at, and is it flexible at all?"
"Where are you moving from and to? Is it a house, an apartment or storage?"
"About how many bedrooms, and anything big or special: piano, safe, gym equipment?"
"Any stairs, elevators or a long walk to the truck at either end?"
"Do you want us to pack, or will you have everything boxed?"
Giving the price
Once you have the details
"For a {size} move from {from} to {to} on {date}, you'd have {crew} movers and a {truck} truck. That comes to {price}, which includes {what's included}."
"The things that would change that are {main variables}. I'll put all of it in writing so there are no surprises."
"I can hold {date} for you today with a {deposit} deposit. Would you like me to lock that in?"
The speed-to-lead callback
Calling back a web or provider lead
Within five minutes of the form
"Hi {first name}, it's {name} with {company}. You just asked for a moving quote for {date}. Is now a good time for two minutes? I can get you a real price on this call."
If they're comparing: "That makes sense, most people get a few quotes. I'll make ours easy to compare: everything in writing, nothing added on moving day."
Voicemail
No answer
"Hi {first name}, it's {name} with {company} about your move on {date}. I have your price ready. I'll text you this number so you have it: {number}. Talk soon."
Text after the missed call
Right after the voicemail
"Hi {first name}, {name} from {company} here. I just tried you about your move on {date}. Is it easier to text? I can send your price here."
Handling objections
"Why are you $400 more than the other company?"
Price objection
"Good question, and I'd rather you ask than guess. Can I ask what their quote includes? Number of movers, hours, truck, any travel or fuel fees?"
"Here's what ours includes: {inclusions}. A lower number usually means fewer movers, a smaller truck or fees added later. If theirs truly includes the same, I'll tell you honestly."
"What matters most to you on moving day: the lowest price or knowing exactly what you'll pay?"
"I need to talk to my spouse."
Stall
"Of course. What do you think they'll ask? I'll make sure you have the answer."
"Would it help if I hold {date} for 24 hours while you talk it over? I'll call you tomorrow at {time}."
"We're still getting quotes."
Shopping
"Smart. When you compare, check three things: the number of movers, whether the price is a fixed or hourly estimate, and what's added for stairs, travel or materials. Ours is all in writing."
"When are you planning to decide? I'll check back then, and I'll let you know if {date} starts filling up."
"Can you do it cheaper?"
Negotiation
"I can't lower the price for the same move, but I can change the move: a flexible date, a smaller crew with more hours, or you handle the packing. Want me to price one of those?"
Asking for the booking and the deposit
The close
End of every quote call
"Based on everything you told me, we're a good fit for this move. Shall I reserve {date} for you?"
"To hold the crew and truck, there's a {deposit} deposit, which comes off the final bill. I can text you a secure link to pay it now."
"You'll get a confirmation by email and text right away, and a reminder a few days before."
Follow-up call after the estimate
Day 2 after an unbooked quote
"Hi {first name}, {name} from {company}. I'm checking whether you had any questions about the estimate for {date}. I still have a crew open that day, but I wanted to make sure before it goes."
The cancellation save
When a booked customer calls to cancel
Before processing it
"I'm sorry to hear that. Can I ask what changed?"
If the date moved: "Let's move it instead of cancelling. Your deposit carries over."
If they found a lower price: "Before you decide, can I check what that quote includes? I want you to be sure it's the same move."
Either way: "If you do go another way, I'd really appreciate knowing why. It helps us get better."
How to make scripts stick
- Record calls and review a few a week with each rep, focused on one moment at a time.
- Find the exact sentence where calls are lost: the price, the objection, the missing ask.
- Role-play the top three objections every week during peak season.
- Track booking rate by rep and by lead source, not just call volume.
- Update the scripts when you find a line that works. Write it down so the next hire gets it.
MoveitPro+ records and summarizes every call and grades it, so you can find the exact moment a call slipped and coach it.
